BACK in the 1980s, steak was king and it was a golden era of steakhouses across the country. As tastes changed, they gradually faded into the abyss and left meat lovers severely wanting.

But a new carnivores’ dream has emerged locally in recent years in the form of restaurant chain Rancho.

This haven of steak first hit Poole in 2011 and earlier this year a brand new restaurant arrived at The Triangle in Bournemouth.

Showcasing a stylish South American influence, the theme runs throughout the trendy steak restaurants with cactus plants, rustic wood, leather seats and cow hide rugs adorning the interiors. It’s a setting that’s unique, modern and inviting, creating a comfortable and relaxed environment that retains Rancho’s symbolic character for which it’s famed.

A recent visit by 24Seven confirms that the Bournemouth restaurant is the perfect place for gorging on steak, especially with its central location on Poole Hill and the welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and, of course, the exceptional standard of food.

Area manager Chris Stern, who has worked in the hospitality industry for over twelve years says: “We’re all passionate about what we do. We strive to produce simple yet quality food with extra care and attention and our customers love it. We’re also proud of our extensive South American wine list, which complements the food brilliantly.”

Rancho is famous for serving up an eclectic selection of dishes.

The team prides itself on using only the finest ingredients, including fresh fish and meats, prime beef, as well as hand-picked produce. The menu is devised for everyone so guests can enjoy great food, day or night.

Specialities include our personal recommendation, the Lomo de Churrasco, the very middle spiral cut from a fillet of beef and thought to be the softest of cuts. Their fillets literally melt in your mouth, which may cause you to neglect the steak-cut chips, onion rings and even the delectable blue cheese sauce. The other house speciality worth singing about is the Rancho’s Ribs.

With Rancho now on the doorstep in Bournemouth and Poole, you needn’t travel far to enjoy some wholesome South American grub with a Mexican flair.

So, whether you are after fine food, lunch or dinner, quality beers and wines, or simply good sized portions at reasonable prices, why not make a visit to discover some flavour for yourself?
