THERE are some Indian restaurants that no self-respecting curry addict can afford to miss, and Indi’s of Westbourne is one of them.

Although funky fusion food is no longer a new concept, this is contemporary Asian cuisine at its finest.

Aside from the laminate wood flooring and minimalistic décor, it is the attention to detail that sets it apart. All the waiters are impeccably turned out in monogrammed burgundy shirts and cufflinks. The service is faultless too. Even the modern artwork features some local scenes.

It seems that from the first day it opened in autumn 2002 the public took Indi’s to their hearts. The restaurant’s simple concept was to serve good-quality contemporary Indian cuisine in tasteful surroundings with exemplary service.

Well, they achieved all this and more. No wonder it enjoys the outstanding reputation it does today and recently scooped Dorset’s Best Indian Restaurant Award in a competition run by iDorset.

Unlike many Indian restaurants, this one prides itself on having an individual curry paste for each of its dishes. As a result the team of highly experienced chefs has created a good range of textures and flavours using only the freshest ingredients.

In making the effort to do this they have achieved a hugely diverse range of exciting flavours across their menus.

24Seven would highly recommend the restaurant to those with an adventurous palate who might sample the dishes that are unique to Indi’s. Don’t worry, however, if you would rather stick to your favourite, as Indi’s caters for the full range of traditional Indian curries for you to indulge in.

The chefs at Indi’s are some of the country’s most well renowned and have moved to Bournemouth to join the highly skilled team.

The contemporary menu is enhanced by the understated but very pleasant décor incorporating cream furniture, natural wood finishes, fresh artwork and unusual lighting.

The ambience has a relaxed yet discerning feel, owing to the fact that larger parties are happily catered for, but in a separate function room.

What also makes a big difference is the wonderful hospitality by a bunch of charming and professional staff. A good job too because the chances are, once you’ve sampled the dining experience at Indi’s, you’ll want to go back – and take a good few friends.
