I AGREE with the the letter ‘Demolition is the worst solution’ (Sept 7) . What is wrong with decision making at Bournemouth council?

Every month the latest council leader tries to defend the wasting of £10 million to buy and demolish the Imax Building in the Daily Echo.

This is followed by many constructive letters from the public mocking Cllr Beesley or at least his tunnel vision re this issue.

Cllr Beesley’s letters are then always followed by those from the councillor for tourism, Rod Cooper, trying to support his leader.

He seemingly has even less idea and is also humiliated by numerous reader letters. One even asked which fairyland Rod lives in! (July 30).

To put it in simple terms for Bournemouth councillors who do not read or understand the Daily Echo letters, or do not react in a logical common sense manner, the public are trying to tell you two things.

Firstly, just because the council leader seemingly has absolutely no opposition from any Bournemouth councillor, this gives him no right to be a dictator and force ridiculous decisions wasting £10 million through.

Secondly, when everybody is telling you that wet weather facilities in the Imax Building are needed, why ignore their views?

A glorified bandstand could be built anywhere – why not in the Bournemouth Gardens so that people can relax at the seafront?

Surely one councillor could come up with sensible uses for the Imax Building, instead of just copying the idea of the two failed, forgotten and previously deposed Bournemouth council leaders?
