DR MARTIN Rodger’s criticism of Conor Burns’s article on EU Brexit is not only somewhat incoherent but lacks any tangible facts.

As Mr Burns so eloquently explained, the EU has one objective – complete central control of a federal Europe by one totally unaccountable parliament.

The powers of our own elected government are being, and will continue to be, continually eroded despite Mr Cameron’s recent insignificant compromises (and his £9 millions propaganda leaflet).

The EU bureaucracy is out of control financially with its accounts not having been passed by its auditors for 20 years.

Every month the whole Brussels parliament uproots and moves to Strasbourg for one week, then back again to Brussels.

Belief that the EU can control its borders has been shown over the past two years to be completely ridiculous.

Our trade with the EU markets runs at a significant deficit, which means that following Brexit, those EU countries will clamour for deals to ensure continuing business, while we will be free to negotiate worldwide without having to agree the terms with 27 other countries.

Brexit, for the UK in the longer term, can only be a "win" situation.
