PLANS to turn a supermarket car park into an American-style drive-in cinema for one night only will finally go ahead.
The cinema is due to be in place at the Tesco Extra in Waterloo Road, Poole, this weekend.
Initially, bosses at the store had organised a screening of rom-com Bridget Jones’s Baby on February 12 as part of planned Valentine’s Day celebrations.
However, Tesco applied late for a licence to show the film, and the screening was cancelled.
Store manager Steve Cox said the movie will now be shown on Sunday, March 5 at 6pm.
The event is free, but customers are advised to begin arriving at 5pm as entry is on a first-come, first-served basis.
“We are delighted to be able to confirm the new date for the drive-in cinema and hope that our customers can join us for what should be a fantastic evening of entertainment,” Mr Cox said.
“We wanted an opportunity to say thanks to our customers and thought that this was something exciting and a little bit different for everyone to enjoy.”
The film is certified as a 15 and admission will not be granted to anyone under this age.
Staff at the store will hand out popcorn and drinks to customers who visit the car park to watch the film.
