CHART-topping rapper, Tinie Tempah, could become the latest high-profile figure to take up residence in Poole’s exclusive Sandbanks district.

The London-born artist, who spent his early years in the city’s tough Walworth area, said Sandbanks had exceeded his expectations for England.

Tempah’s career has been on a stratospheric rise since he performed at Poole’s intimate Chords venue last June, and he could win four Brit Awards at the prestigious ceremony tomorrow.

“My favourite place is Sandbanks. I went there and I didn’t even believe I was in England,” the rapper told The Observer.

Tempah’s debut single, Pass Out, shot straight to number one in the pop charts last February, and has since sold over 750,000 copies in the UK alone – making it one of the biggest-selling singles of 2010.

He has been nominated for Brit Awards in categories for British Male Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act, British Single, and British Album of the Year.

If he makes the move to Sandbanks, Tempah could join famous faces including Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, and former Liverpool FC captain, Graeme Souness.

Robert Dunford, a partner in the Tailor Made estate agency on Banks Road, said Sandbanks appealed to high-profile figures seeking time away from the hectic pace of life in the capital.

“Sandbanks is always among the top two or three on the list of properties outside of London. Obviously, someone like Tinie Tempah would want to enjoy their nightlife, but sometimes they look for somewhere to switch off and escape the rat race,” he said.

The estate agency has properties for sale on the Sandbanks peninsula, including the £9.75m Solaris beach house, which comes with a jacuzzi, sauna, gym, and cinema.
