PROPOSALS to transform key sites across Bournemouth town centre have been approved and will now go out to public consultation.

The council has indicated what type and level of development it would like to see on 30 sites across the town, including Westover Road and Asda St Paul’s.

And the cabinet has also made a number of site-specific decisions, which are:

• To explore the cost and feasibility of buying the NCP car park at Exeter Road and delivering a public transport hub on the site.

• To agree a negotiated deal that would secure the Imax lease.

• To sell the Winter Gardens site to a private pension fund that is proposing to build a cinema and shops there.

• To welcome the Trevor Osborne Property Group’s proposal to remove a casino from the Pavilion Gardens scheme and authorise officers to progress negotiations with them.
