BUSINESS news has never been as important as it is today.

Many people are still on furlough after months of lockdown restrictions which are being eased slowly.

As government help for business is phased out over the coming weeks and months, we will see how many businesses can survive without further aid.

But one of our top stories this week is a warning that we should expect a sharp and sustained rise in business failures.

This week’s top stories also included the confirmation that Debenhams in Bournemouth Square would close for good on Wednesday, May 12.

There was, however, some good news for Bournemouth Airport with the government’s announcement on easing some restrictions on international travel.
