DETECTIVES are treating a violent incident that saw armed officers seal off an address in Poole on Monday as attempted murder.

Police were initially called to Sea View Road, Lower Parkstone, around 5.30pm, after reports of a robbery.

Two men were taken to Poole Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and officers flooded the area.

One person has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was still in police custody last night as the Daily Echo went to press.

Detectives are trying to locate two other men – one of whom may have sustained injuries in the incident – who they believe were involved in the drama.

Detective Inspector Becky Riggs, of Poole and Bournemouth CID, said: “This was a very serious incident.

“I am appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward as I believe that two further men were involved.

“Anyone with information should call Dorset Police urgently.”

Shortly after police attended Sea View Road they sealed off an address in nearby Cranbrook Road, where dog handlers were sent in while the police helicopter searched helped to search the area. Officers also searched Turner’s Field, off Victoria Road.

One of the two men police are looking for was described as being white, tall, aged mid to late 20s, with short brown hair and a black jacket.

The other man was described as white and wearing an orange T-shirt. Police think he was the one who may have sustained injuries.

Det Insp Riggs said: “All calls will be treated in strictest confidence.”

Witnesses to the incident, and anyone else with relevant information to the case, should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 17: 68. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
