Armed officers swoop on Parkstone after alleged robbery leaves two men injured
ARMED officers swooped on a Poole road after an alleged robbery which left two men in hospital.
Police were last night still searching for two people following the drama in Upper Parkstone.
Officers were called at 5.30pm to a report of a robbery at Sea View Road.
Two men had sustained serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and were taken to Poole Hospital. A cordon was put in place at Sea View Road.
A 25-year-old local man was arrested and was helping police with their enquiries.
One resident said: “I saw someone in the alleyway next to the house at about 4.30pm but I see people going in and out of the house all day so I didn't think anything of it. About half an hour later, the police and ambulance turned up and someone came out with the paramedics. He was walking but he had a bloody face.”
Shortly afterwards, the focus of the police operation shifted to nearby Cranbrook Road and Croft Road.
Armed police surrounded a house in Cranbrook Road and dog handlers were sent in, while the police helicopter searched the area.
A search was also carried out at Turner’s Field, off Victoria Road.
Resident Paul Foster, 34, of Parkstone, said at Cranbrook Road: “I was the first on the scene when the police were taping it all off. A woman police officer was putting on a stab vest and she said to get back, it wasn't safe.”
The drama was over shortly before 7.30pm, when an officer in Cranbrook Road told the public that they had been searching for “specific” people and evidence and all was “fine”.
The road re-opened shortly afterwards.
But police said they were still looking for two suspects – a man in his mid to late 20s, tall with short brown hair, wearing a black jacket, and a man wearing an orange T-shirt, who may be injured.
