PLACES are being snapped up fast and cyclists are urged to register now for the popular annual Dorset Bike Ride which raises funds for the British Heart Foundation.

It takes place on Sunday, April 28 and there are four different options with 25, 50, 66 and 100-mile circular routes through the blossoming Dorset countryside.

Organisers hope to attract more than 2,000 cyclists to the marshalled and signposted event which is suitable for individuals, teams and families.

Cyclists can start between 8am and 10am from Queen Elizabeth’s School, Wimborne.

Andy Coles, regional event organiser, said: “Cycling is a fantastic way to get fit and look after your heart health, so if you’re looking for an event to push you this spring then look no further.”

There is an entry fee of £15 for adults and £5 for under 16s accompanied by an adult.

The charity is appealing for riders to raise as much sponsorship as possible to help beat heart disease, the UK’s biggest killer.
