LIVE music, dance, colourful characters and a breathtaking story combine in the enchanting show The Tin Soldier, which is being performed by Peut-etre Theatre Company in collaboration with Pavilion Dance South West.

A newly-minted tin soldier stands on a single leg, having been the last one cast from an old tin spoon.

Nearby, he spies a paper ballerina, also standing on one leg, and the soldier falls in love.

But the course of true love cannot run smooth and the soldier falls into an adventure to test and melt the bravest of hearts.

There will also be a free workshop available to those who book a ticket to the performance.

PDSW spokeswoman Sarah Probert said: “It is an opportunity for children and parents to use bodies, voices and imaginations to explore the extraordinary world of toys. “Children will jump like the jack in the box, dance like the wind-up ballerina and march like tin soldiers. The workshop is free to ticket-holders, but spaces are limited!”

The show is at Pavilion Dance South West, Overlooking Lower Gardens, Westover Road, Bournemouth, on February 15 and 16 at 11.30am and 3pm. Tickets are £5 (babes in arms free) plus free workshop from 01202 203630 and www.pdsw.org.uk.
