I WRITE in disagreement of the Opinion stated in the Echo.
I find it incredible that a Government Inspector removed the bus station requirement from the Exeter Road site.
Surely what Bournemouth needs more than anything is a central hub for public transport. The old bus station was near perfect in design and function, the present arrangement of random stops scattered across the town centre provides no facilities or transport information/ticket office and does nothing to promote the use of buses.
Licet’s proposed development will bring nothing new to Bournemouth. Since when were cinemas and restaurants all weather family facilities?
There are enough ghost developments in the town centre already.
Licet should seize the chance to include a bus station in their plan and be grateful for the guaranteed footfall and spin off business.
