ON two occasions, in February and May I experienced hypoglycaemic episodes when in hospital.

I was diagnosed as having pneumonia and was receiving large injections of antibiotics. I lost appetite and could not eat and was sick, blood sugars were badly monitored.

In July I received a letter from the DVLA cancelling my driving licence because of the two hypoglycaemic episodes.

Since leaving hospital, blood sugars are excellent and I am not likely to have any further episodes. I and several others have written to the DVLA and have not had the courtesy of any reply.

I was not contacted by the DVLA prior to the cancelation.

Both my wife and I cannot walk more than 25 yards and the car was a great asset.

I am astonished that the DVLA can act in such a dictatorial way and fail to consider the circumstances of my hypos.

My purpose in writing you is to find how many other people have had similar experiences and seek to obtain redress.
