RE The sad demise of Queens Park Pond.

Once we would see around two dozen ducks, now none.

Once we would have ducklings raised, 14 last year, this year none. The first time that we can remember.

Once we used to have frogs, this year they all died.

Once we used to have fish, (some of them whoppers!). If there are any there now they must be strangled.

Once we had almost daily visits from a heron. You’d be lucky to see one in around four or five weeks now.

Once you would see dragonflies by the dozen, we’ve seen three this year.

Once children could sail their boats, they would need hovercraft now!

Even the seagulls have deserted us!

So, as you can imagine, this is a plea on behalf of all the lovers of Queens Park to please do something to get rid of the weed in the pond.

A very weak attempt was made last year, but to be perfectly honest, they needn’t have bothered.

Looking forward to some action soon.
