business people I know who were not born in Great Britain flaunted our national flag and bunting during Jubilee week and the recent Olympics .

I suggest that the orchestra’s management team take on Cllr Filer’s well-backed remarks and alter their programmes in future.

RUTH COOKE, Redhill Park, Bournemouth It is irredeemably awful to my ears I HAVE to disagree with Cllr Anne Filer, with regard to the BSO no longer playing the National Anthem.

I will be perfectly happy if I never hear this wonderful orchestra play God Save the Queen again.

Not because of any anti-Royalist sympathies on my part, but because it is an irredeemably awful tune.

PETE SMITH, Charminster, Bournemouth Holiday destination unless it’s raining I FULLY support those whose letters you publish pointing out to the council that the Imax was built to satisfy an overwhelming desire for “wet weather facilities on or near the seafront”.

The tent idea looks ugly and is a cheap substitute unsuitable for wet weather activities with the emphasis on activities.

Also, if people simply want music on the beach, modern technology can provide it.

Would the councillors please write on the back of their hands, in indelible ink: “The people of Bournemouth want an ice rink and a swimming pool,” which the lower floors of the Imax could easily provide as the councillors seem to forget these expectations at council meetings.

How can Bournemouth be a holiday destination without such activities?

PS I really like the wave roof.
