I HAVE read with interest the letters opposed to Sainsbury’s coming to the Grove in Southbourne with which I agree up to a point.
We should try to support local retailers wherever possible, because if we don’t use them we will lose them.
However, no one, including myself, would appear to be able to suggest an alternative, because what small retailer would want such large premises.
Surely, Sainsbury’s, who many years ago, if my memory serves correctly, used to be where Tesco is today, will be an improvement on the eyesore which has blighted The Grove for such a long time.
