I AM a regular reader of the Daily Echo which is delivered to me every day.
I especially enjoy the puzzle page. I pass the paper on to my neighbour Connie, after my daughter and granddaughter have seen it.
One day after passing it on to Connie, my daughter asked for it back as she needed something from it.
After asking Connie to return it, she came to my door with the Daily Echo in her hand and said “I open the Daily Echo at the obituary page and read the column, and if my name isn’t in it, I carry on living, as I know that I am still alive.”
When I told my daughter of this she cracked up laughing.
It was the last thing that she expected to hear and often refers to it.
