WE, the residents of Highfield Road, in Moordown, are all angry and frustrated at the council’s lack of urgency concerning parking on a very dangerous bend in the road.

Last July a notice appeared proposing painting double yellow lines on both sides at the bend.

This was passed at the planning meeting and we all thought it would happen very quickly. Wrong!

A year later nothing has changed. We are all totally frustrated by the lack of urgency/concern shown by the Roads and Transport Office at Bournemouth Town Hall. We call regularly for an update and find someone else dealing with it each time.

The job has been passed from pillar to post and no one cares or knows why it hasn’t been done.

The dustcart cannot always negotiate between the parked cars, delivery vans park elsewhere and walk furniture and parcels (some big and heavy) the whole length of the road, or, don’t deliver at all.

Ridiculous.

A fire engine would not get through and an ambulance on a ‘blue light emergency’ had to reverse slowly back with the help of bystanders.

Highfield Road is a cul-de-sac so there is no other way out. Someone will die before this is sorted.

The latest call to the office today resulted in the new person saying he had no idea why it was being done. We suggest he comes to see for himself at 8.30am or 3pm (school day) or after 7pm in the evening.

He should come during the hours of darkness or in the winter when it is impossible to see around the corner and sometimes only just wide enough for a standard car to get through.
