MY husband, Christopher Bennett, is the grandson of Charles Bennett who was the first British gold medal medallist for track and field at the Olympics in 1900. As the 2012 Olympic Games are being held in England why was my husband not asked to hold the torch for Dorset where Charles was born?
It would have been an honour for him in memory of his grandfather but he was not asked.
