I, LIKE other council tax payers in Bournemouth was heartened to read Chief Inspector Weeks’ assurance that the police are out on the streets doing their very best to deter offenders from committing dwelling house burglaries (Daily Echo, July 6).
What I would really like to know however, is of the 37 people arrested in the Bournemouth/Poole area for burglary during June 1012 how many of those were actually charged and prosecuted?
How many of those were merely cautioned?
How many of those were released without charge?
Finally, how many of those were bailed for an interminably long period of time to enable the police to find reasons why they should not be charged?
