I’VE recently changed my small blue recycle bin for a larger one. Poole council officers at Consumer Protection tell me that I’ve also got to change my large household rubbish black bin for a smaller one.
Their argument is that I now don’t need the large black bin because I can put more in the large blue bin, but my argument is that it’s a waste of money. My black bin won’t be taking any less rubbish at all.
We’ve always recycled the correct waste in each bin and the smaller blue bin was forever overloaded that was the reason for the change.
Last Thursday my bins were changed and they gave me a new small black bin in addition to the large blue one, even though there was nothing wrong with my old large black bin. I find that a waste of council tax. They must cost £35-£50 each.
Work that out if everyone changes bins.
