FURTHER to H V Cann’s letter (Echo 13) re bonfires, this will be an increasing problem in Poole, with about 50 per cent (approximately 30,000) of Poole householders not partaking in the garden waste project.

Either their garden does not warrant a green bin or they cannot afford the extra cost. Disposing of wooded garden waste will become a serious problem, and a bonfire will be the easiest and cost effective way to get rid of it.

I would do the same myself but I haven’t got room, too much growth around, but councillors have been warned, it will happen.
