SO, wind turbine generators will spoil the view across the bay.

Is that all that concerns everyone?

According to informed studies, the total power that may be produced by all the likely sites, will only generate about seven per cent of that needed to accommodate the demands currently provided by burning fossil fuels.

So what will the effect be? It has been claimed that these turbines are inefficient.

It might be a surprise to know how much fossil fuel was burned to produce them in the first place.

The only credit that can be given to this method of producing energy is that it doesn’t release carbon emissions into the atmosphere.

The production of them probably does though.

The installation will require cables from each turbine be brought to the land.

It is a fact that these cables will generate heat when they pass the electrical power.

When they reach land, they will have to be kept separated to allow the energy dissipated to disperse without melting the cables.

The temperature of the water will inevitably rise a little, also the natural flow of the tides will be modified.

For navigation safety there will have to be a red light on the top of each tower and a white light lower down to warn surface traffic of their presence.

The wind and tides and temperatures in the bay have a delicate ecological balance.

They are a crucial part of our weather patterns, and not to be meddled with.

We have areas of special importance currently protected round the bay.

These could well be under serious threat.

Putting wind turbines in the bay will be a serious mistake.
