I AM very disturbed by your front page (‘Worst School in England’). What message does that send to the staff and pupils who are working so hard to turn the school round?

As a former secondary teacher, and having read the Ofsted report, I am sorry that you did not mention more of the positives they highlighted. However I do congratulate you in your fairness in the parents’ comments. I live in the catchment area and have heard many such comments. You do not turn a failing school round overnight and I think the progress is already amazing.

The strangest comment is from the Borough of Poole ‘demanding improvement and offering help’. These are the people who got the school in such a mess, so I hope they will stay right out of it. Good luck to Cheryl Heron and her team.
