READING the Monday Echo’s Taste section, The Queens Park Wednesday night Steak Night caught my eye.

We don’t usually eat steaks out because more times than not they arrive either overdone and tough or underdone and the way the chef likes it but not I.

So asking my wife if she would like to try The Queen’s Park Steak Night, and she said that as the price quoted (£24.95) for two courses for two people would not be a disaster if we did not like it, I gave them a call and reserved a table.

As we pulled into the car park my wife commented on the mouth-watering smell coming from the kitchen and said if it was as good as it smelt she would be happy. Very important – to me.

My wife had a rib eye and I had a sirloin; they were both done exactly the way we liked – excellent, as were the large chunky home-made chips and accompanying vegetables, all cooked to perfection, presented by a friendly mine host.

It was our first but not our last visit, thanks to the Echo’s Taste Section PETER WEBB Bramshaw Gardens, Bournemouth
