I WAS recently shown a document circulated by the Poole Environmental & Consumer Protection Services regarding the Garden Waste Collection Service showing charges for collection of garden waste.
Are Poole residents aware that in other parts of the country fortnightly green waste collections are provided as standard and do not incur charges?
This service is available all year and includes the collection of Christmas trees. Here in Staffordshire, Litchfield and Tamworth, councils work together to collect waste all year and Dacorum Council in Hertfordshire also collects all year round.
If these Conservative-led councils can provide this service, why can’t Poole?
This service is not at the expense of other services either and we have planters and roundabouts brimming with flowers and shrubs summer and winter.
