I WOULD like to send my sincere thanks to all the staff and the marvellous committee who formed Verwood’s Club 31 when our beautifully refurbished Royal British Legion closed.
The success of both was, I fear, hampered by the Town Council’s repeated refusals to install a footpath across the Memorial Park for use by the less able and to make it more accessible to all.
Now we have lost both but I would repeat my thanks to the wonderful committee and staff of Club 31, who did a wonderful job with no council support A very sad end to a great effort.
MARILYN WARBURTON, Ringwood Road, Verwood
