I ATTENDED the final presentation for the year yesterday at the Wessex Hotel for the Bournemouth and District Ladies Bowling Association, and a mention was made to your excellent coverage of our games in your paper.
The following is a summary of the work of the area’s ladies’ bowling clubs. As ladies president of the West Moors club I attended several functions and would like to announce the following contributions made to local charities.
At the Dorset Women’s Bowling League President’s Day £500 was raised for Dorset County Hospital. At the B&D President’s Day £637 was raised for the Bournemouth Society for the Visually Impaired and at the Dorset County Presidents Day £700 was raised for Julia’s House and at my own President’s Day at West Moors, £200 was raised for the Dorset Renal Fund.
