I DROPPED my daughter off at the airport last week and it cost £2.50 to drive through the car park, taking about three minutes. I noticed another motorist doing a three point turn in front of the entrance to the car park to drop off his passengers rather than pay this ridiculous charge.

There is now even a manned barrier preventing you going any further than the entrance to the car park. I will be faced with the same charge to pick her up.

I’m sure I’m not the only person to find this situation annoying and petty and it does nothing to encourage use of our local airport. In fact it adds to the jobsworth attitude when travelling through the airport. Southampton is altogether a better experience
