HAVING just read the article today regarding “the A35 road from Bakers Arms to Bere Regis”, I am amazed that the fact that deer are also a major factor of accidents along that road was not mentioned at all.

All along that stretch of road are fences and gates wide open that enable the deer to stray on to the road and cause a great deal of trouble one way or another. Usually fatally for the deer and no doubt has played a part in the “accidents” on that road.

Surely, common sense and health and safety should prevail here and owners of land should be made to put up safety measures by special fences and gates closed, to at least alleviate some of the dangers on the A35.
