Recently my husband Ronald and I were on holiday at my aunt’s house in Christchurch.

We love the town and have been coming down every year for over 40 years for family holidays.

On Friday, July 1, Ronald had a fatal heart attack. At 6.50am I had to call 999 as I realised he was not well and needed help. Paramedics arrived within four minutes.

They kept me calm, spoke gently and kindly to me as they tried their hardest to keep him with us.

Also David and Alan from the Bournemouth/Poole coroners office were wonderful.

I would just like to pass on my thanks to everyone who helped that day.

I will remember their kindness forever and my children (and grandchildren) will be always thankful to them for trying to keep their dad with us.

We have decided that as he died in Christchurch, which he loved – we will always say that his heart has stopped there for us and we will come every year and remember him.
