ON behalf of myself and family, may I through your letter page give my sincere thanks to the many people who expressed their condolences on the recent death of my husband, Tom Hall.
In particular I would like to mention the local groups of which he was an enthusiastic and esteemed member.
Unfortunately these were omitted from last Friday’s obituary through lack of space though I supplied the necessary information.
These are Boscombe and Southbourne Probus Club of which he was made a life member and who provided such an impressive Guard of Honour at his funeral.
Southbourne Literary Society – a member since the first meeting 65 years ago and in which he served at various times as secretary, president and treasurer.
Bournemouth Local Studies Group and SARA (Southbourne Active Retirement Association).
He had also given talks to all these groups which had been much appreciated.
I would be grateful if you could publish this letter fairly soon in order to correct the omission, as a number of people are wondering why the groups were not mentioned.
Thank you in advance.
