How appropriate that the letter regarding the stereotyping of young people (Letters page June 18 2011) appeared in the same issue as the report ‘Drink-driving on the increase’.

It was reported that of 40 people arrested for drink-driving 16 were under 30 years of age. This means that 24 were more than 30 (no mention was made of this) and therefore there were three over 30s arrested for every two under 30s (a 50 per cent increase). I do not condone drink-driving in any age group but please put the emphasis where it belongs.
