THE Highcliffe chairman’s comments that we should have more councillors shows he is out of step with current opinion, for we should have far less but more effective councillors.

But he is right in one thing in that it should be the councillors who are elected to making more of the decisions, not the officers so with less councillors this might change.

At the moment, there are too many cooks. To have 60 councillors for East Dorset and Christchurch is way over the top as there should be no more than 12.
