I AM informed that Cllr Derek Borthwick has gone over to the Conservatives only three days after being elected for a second term in office as an Independent, apparently on the promise of a chairmanship and the hope of becoming Mayor.
He should be made to resign and pay for a by-election.
I do hope such underhanded and dishonourable behaviour is not allowed to go unacknowledged and uncontested in our beautiful town. It is a total disgrace.
