IT IS very difficult to those of us now at a certain age to watch our area being destroyed.
For example, Canford Bottom. I remember that as a simple main road (A31) well before the dual carriageway. There was the Fox Inn and Colehill and Stapehill were still considered as rural or at least semi-rural. But now, it like so many areas, is noisy and polluted by traffic and aeroplanes.
People unfortunately seem to believe it is their right to go anywhere and everywhere. But is it?
Why can’t they stay local? Enjoy their surroundings and save money?
I appreciate town folk may wish to come to the countryside, then do visit, for example, the New Forest but don’t jet off to Spain.
Then complain you have no money and that Bournemouth Airport will charge you for parking.
