I REFER to ‘Imagine if it had been a child’ (Daily Echo, March 2). How many more times do we need to hear that sort of remark before someone gets off their backside and do something about the control of dogs being walked off lead?

It’s almost a weekly occurrence and the impression given is that nobody is prepared to take a stand on this issue, so will it take another attack on a child for something to happen?

Where are the dog charities on this? Never a comment from them and they’re very quick to blow their own trumpet about the good work they do.

Perhaps they should direct their efforts in advising or working with the authorities to help towards a solution to reduce these attacks.
