What a joke! Your report, (Echo, March 15) of the Keep Britain Tidy conference at the BIC was excellent.
The fact that majority of the delegates would have had to drive along one of the most litter strewn roads in the country is quite ironic.
The A338, the part which is the responsibility of Christchurch Council, is a disgrace.
A clearance of once a year is insufficient.
The area from Bournemouth’s boundary to the Blackwater junction has not been cleared for at least five years, nobody seems to be know who is responsible.
Even when they decide to clear the litter the Health and Safety brigade require that at least five warning vehicles accompany the two litter pickers.
I wonder how long it will be before someone summons the council, through the Magistrates Court to fufil their statutary obligations?
