WITH reference to your two articles on flowers one on floral display planting and the other on the illicit picking of flowers the type of which I was proudly wearing on March 1st.

I find it very disconcerting that it should even have entered anybody’s head let alone a Councillor’s of axing floral displays as a means of saving money. What next one might add from the cuts junkies. All credit to Cllr Michael Brooke who despite our differences is an Old School.

Municipalists like myself and the majority if the truth be known, for nipping this one in the bud.

Secondly, the daffodil picking and Cllr Adams comments “We are proud of our parks and can’t have people ripping up public property”.

To have creditability politicians must show consistency not have their answers blowing in the wind.

Peter Adams’ name was on the Branksome Rec proposals and he was quite content to have seen public property ripped up. Hypocrisy!

I am afraid the flower proposals and Cllr Adams undiplomatic actions are completely at odds with each other, one seems public spirited the other the opposite.

I would like to know whether when Cllr Adams called the police he told them he was a Councillor and whether their response or appearance would have been different if an ‘ordinary’ member of the public had complained.
