I FEEL ashamed of the human race when I read about the way people treat animals (‘Cat abuse is on the rise, says charity’, Daily Echo February 28).
It goes to show what these people are about, when they choose a defenceless animal like a cat as targets for their fun. Perhaps if they were faced with the enemy on the front line they would not be so brave.
How long before they get bored and have a go at children? The parents of these people must know they have an air gun, and should destroy it.
It is about time the government banned these air guns. They are not toys. Will it take a death of a child to sort it out?
Also, if anyone has a cat or any animal they can not cope with, please just contact RSPCA or Cat Protection. Don't leave them to die or mistreat them.
