IN Mr Cameron’s electoral manifesto, he invited members of the public to make suggestions in order to reduce the country’s huge deficit, therefore may we submit a suggestion in the light of our own experience.

Upon returning to this country last week at Bournemouth, we were astonished to see the number of government employed personnel to receive one mere plane.

It was absolutely overwhelming and totally unnecessary, many were standing around with clipboards in their hands looking completely lost.

Whereas we appreciate the necessity of the duties they are there to perform, there certainly appeared to be a surplus of personnel in order to do this.

It was like cracking a nut with a sledgehammer, so to speak.

The volume of aircraft at Bournemouth Airport is very small when compared with other airports, and we would suggest a minimum of personnel would have been quite adequate for the job in hand.

We intend to bring our conclusions to the attention of Mr Cameron and his government.
