YOUR correspondent, Alan Burridge (Have you noticed the air is clean? Fri Feb 25) exalts the school holidays as being times of no gridlock and vastly improved air quality.

Given that these cars only make up 10 per cent of the traffic in the morning rush hour, why does he put the entire blame for congestion on them?

Surely he is part of the nine per cent that makes up the rest of the gridlock?

Play your part, Mr Burridge, leave your own car behind one day a week. Stop blaming others while you selfishly and hypocritically contribute to the mess you decry.

If you’re stuck in a traffic jam - you’re part of the cause of that jam.
