WHEN the police talk about how to cut spending I can think of three easy ways straightaway: firstly scrap the helicopter - we need feet on the ground instead; replace all the BMWs and Range Rovers with cheaper models (except for motorway vehicles) and last but not least stop providing a different uniform for every different task.
