POOLE Council’s spokesperson says that in recycling some areas of Poole have black and blue recycling bins and part has a green bin as well. Newcastle has nine bins.

Poole says there is a consultation exercise to give everyone this extra green bin and to charge for it.

Now, I do not know how you view this ‘muddled thinking’, but I already pay for a ‘refuse’ collection, or should I say refuse (play on words). Seems that we may be forced to buy an incinerator, go back to burning rubbish, abolish the Clean Air Act, get more lung diseases, re-create smog, compost everything. Great for the environment.

Now, next time you go to Tesco, Sainsbury’s or wherever you shop, after you have bought and paid for the basic goods, strip off all excess packaging and leave it there.

After all, we old people are used to buying spuds, dirt and all, and putting them directly into hessian bags with other root crops.

I am constantly being badgered to do my bit for recycling as councils make money out of recycling green waste.

So go and compose (or compost) some clear thinking Poole Council.
