Opinions vary regarding the police handling of road traffic accidents, and there are many drivers who remember when, in all but the most catastrophic of RTA’s, vehicles and people were speedily removed from the scene, leaving a couple of coppers armed with a tape measure, a stick of chalk and a note book to speedily note details, take measurements and then clear off.

Compare that with today where, even the most minor RTA’s require road closures and a large police presence, taking at the very least two hours and wonder why there is a great difference in approach.
