On behalf of the Trustees of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust I wish to thank all the Servicemen and women involved in the recent, outstanding concert at The Lighthouse Arts Centre, Poole, performed by the Central Band of the RAF, the Salon Orchestra and the Squadronaires.

The sold-out concert, staged in support of our charity, demonstrated just how many fine musicians the Royal Air Force possesses under the assured and dynamic baton of the RAF’s Principal Director of Music, Wing Commander Duncan Stubbs.

That they played to a sold-out audience speaks volumes for the quality and popularity of their music. Unsurprisingly, the feedback I have received has been hugely supportive and positive with many people stating how much they are already looking forward to next year's offering.

I should also like to thank Air Cadets from 2391 (Parkstone) Squadron who supported the concert, selling programmes and carrying out other important duties.

The concert, generously sponsored by Lockheed Martin, was yet another fine example of the way in which our trading company the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises – organisers of the Royal International Air Tattoo – has worked alongside the RAF this year to stage inspired and official events to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
