I have just read your article Hot Meals, Blankets, and the Gift of Love. about the homeless in Bournemouth.
I have been privileged to join that wonderful group of Salvation Army volunteers who go out every Monday night to give these people a hot meal. Winter, summer, snow or ice, they are always there and always on time.
As we snuggle under the duvet in our centrally heated homes, spare a thought for those who are settling in for another night in the open. Under bushes, in the cemetery, or if they are lucky, in a bus shelter.
Surely we all can spare a bar of chocolate, a pair of socks or some gloves to help these unfortunate people keep warm?
If you can help, please leave a parcel at the Winton SA shop in Latimer Road Winton, or indeed any SA shop. Mark your package ‘Socks for Mary’.
Thank you. Merry Christmas.
