I think it is welcome that Poole council intends switching off some street lights.
In our previous residence in Parkstone, we lived in a quiet cul-de-sac with very little traffic. However the street lights were left on all night.
Where we now live it’s the same story. Everyone seems to be at home by 6pm, but the lights beam out all night. Why not cancel one light in two and stop all lights at midnight until six in the morning? A huge saving and we would not have a useless light shining into our bedroom all night.
