I see that the Borough of Poole’s latest aim is to withdraw the subsidy from the 200 vulnerable people who receive hot lunches from Agincare.
I would find it very interesting to know how many working lunches are provided by the council for staff or invited visitors, and at what cost. From now on when they have a ‘freebie’ lunch perhaps they will think of the 200 people who have been denied the subsidy.
Perhaps they could get up 10 minutes earlier in the morning, make some sandwiches and take a flask or start their meetings earlier or later in the day to avoid lunchtime so that sustenance doesn’t have to be provided.
Then that cost could be transferred back to the social care fund and the subsidy reinstated.
